Education

For most that know me, I am quite nerdy. I have always been a bit of a brainiac, being very inquisitive from a very young age. I graduated with the national honor society from high school despite being a teenage mother. I went on with my education to accumulate any certification, license, and training that interest me. I have many credentials to build my portfolio as a business woman.

My first training and certification was as a tax preparer, at the age of 18. That lead me to getting a certification for bookkeeping, wanting to understand business taxes more. At that time in life, I also was required to have a ServSafe certification for my job, so I got that. I then went on to get a certification in event planning and decorating, falling in love with it while doing my children birthday parties. I realized, I was kind of all over the place with my credentials and needed to narrow my focus into what I really want my career to be.
B
y this time, years have gone by, as I was really into working I started my credentials goals again.
But while working in management for years, I realized what I wanted to do, I want to one day have my own accounting business. With that goal in mind, I took the first step by getting my notary certification. I then went on to get my associates degree in accounting graduating with the honor society once again. A longtime goal from the age of 21 was to get my real estate license, which I completed while working on my degree. Real estate has always been a passion for me since childhood, when I would go to work with my grandfather. That’s when I realized that I should get a degree in hospitality management and combined that with my real estate; knowing that commercial real estate is my end goal and I would love to have real estate investments in different hospitality businesses. I am currently working on my degree in hospitality management and intend on going even further and getting my masters in accounting.

The fact that I am unable to use my credentials the way I want at this point, for my only full time job is my motherhood; it is actually beneficial for my years of experience because I make sure to keep my credentials current.

Stay tuned for my progress and updates!
