Paid caregiver
The irony is I have been trying for the last couple of years to balance maintaining an extra source of income and be my daughter’s caregiver. However now there has been a program introduced where I can get paid for being her caregiver. Not that I wouldn’t do it if weren’t getting paid, just makes life easier being a single mother and only relying on my income.
The reliability of keeping a nurse has always been a struggle. I’m not sure if it is because of the era we are in or if it is just hard for staffing but we have never had a nurse longer than a few months. And you can imagine the struggle of that having child care so that you are to provide and then it is all of a sudden lost. I want to feel settled and know what’s next I life and not always on standby like I have been.
So with this opportunity I am able to balance having a steady source of income, and taking care of my children full time. I was only required to do a background check and become certified in CPR. With these credentials I am able to be her paid caregiver and work with an actual nursing agency. Although it hasn't officially started I am excited and optimistic about the future.
