Spreading Funds
I go overboard just a little, when it comes to holidays and back to school time. I admit I overcompensate with my children, trying to fill any void they may feel. So I am always a bit anxious around this time of the year having everything planned months prior. I try to always make sure I have numerous checks to spend on stuff. For back to school I use one check to get shoes, one to get clothes and one to get school supplies.
I buy each of my children a variety of shoes and clothes hoping that what they start the school off with and what they already have will last them until Christmas. I make sure that I get all three of mine the same, and let them all have their time to shine. As far as the prices it varies having a 16 year old son, a 10 year old daughter, and a 4 year old daughter. I definitely spend the most on my son, him being the biggest and men clothing being a lot more expensive.
I definitely still go above, getting each child at least two pair of sneakers, at least five outfits and underclothes, and giving them a fresh start with a new book bag and supplies for school. I would say I get a lot of my traditions from my mom, because I remember at school time she would do that with me and my brothers. I am huge on appearance with my children, for they are a representation of me.
Spreading of my funds has always been something I practiced. I always want or need something for me or my children, so I will by in session and over time. But my children get everything that they want and need. Although I haven’t mastered my spending habits, I definitely plan out my money and do minimum splurging.
